    • 1). Gather enough sawdust to fill the palm of your hand. Make sure the sawdust is very fine, and is from the wood you are trying to match. Sanding dust works the best because the grains are much finer.

    • 2). Place the sawdust on the cardboard. Make sure you are in a suitable work area for mixing.

    • 3). Mix glue to the sawdust until the mixture achieves the consistency of wood putty. Carpenter's glue or white glue work best for this process.

    • 4). Fill the hole, gouge or whatever problem area is in the wood with your wood filler mixture. When the putty is dry, sand to smooth. It should make a perfect match.
