How to Make a Dingo Buggy Go Fast
- 1). Lighten the buggy. Consider replacing any unnecessarily heavy parts of your dingo kart, such as the seats, with lighter options. But never switch out any parts that are made to be heavier for particular safety precautions. Decorative objects/features on your dingo kart are a good place to start, when choosing which items to remove.
- 2). Replace the battery with a more powerful and efficient one. Most go-karts are sold with a common battery that functions perfectly fine, but replacing this battery with a more powerful lead-acid electrical battery should improve your kart’s speed. Check with your particular buggy’s manufacturer for alternative battery options that are appropriate for your kart.
- 3). Change the fuel used for your dingo buggy. Nitrous oxide is well-known for increasing the speed of vehicles, but it is also very dangerous -- when not used properly -- and is therefore not available to consumers under the age of 21. If you don’t wish to use nitrous oxide as part of the fuel for your dingo buggy, then consider using high octane gasoline. While this fuel is more expensive than the usual option, it will also not clog your motor -- like the regular fuel might -- and will result in your kart operating at faster speeds in the long run.
- 4). Loosen the governor. This is an extreme step that should be taken only by those who fully understand how their dingo buggy operates and can listen to their engine to accurately assess their RPM. This can be dangerous for anyone who does not know how to listen to their engine for signs of a problem, so don't put yourself or your buggy at risk unless you are confident in your knowledge.
