Add Image and Video to Movie

• 1). Open Premiere Pro, and click "New Project." Type a name for the project in the Name text box, then click "OK" two times to view Premiere Pro's user interface. Click the "Import" button, and then double-click one of the image files that appear in the Import window. Premiere places a thumbnail of the image in the Preview window located in the Project panel.
  
  
• 2). Drag the thumbnail onto Video Track 3 on the Timeline panel. Open the Import window again, and locate a video file. Double-click that file to add it to the Project panel.
  
  
• 3). Drag the video thumbnail to Video Track 2 on the Timeline panel. This places the video on a track below the track that contains the image.
  
  
• 4). Locate the Program panel. It contains a player that shows a preview of your movie. You will see the video and your image on top of the video.
  
  
• 5). Click the image thumbnail on the Video 3 track to select the image. Find the Video Effects panel near the top of Premiere. This panel contains controls that allow you to resize the image and move it to different locations.
  
  

Overlay Image over Video

• 1). Click the arrow next to Motion to reveal a Position label and a Scale label. Two numbers appear to the right of this label. The first number controls the image's horizontal position and the second number controls the vertical position.
  
  
• 2). Click the first number, hold down your left mouse button and drag your cursor from left to right. The Preview window moves from left to right as you move the cursor. Move your cursor until the image resides at the horizontal position where you would like it to appear above the video.
  
  
• 3). Click the second number, hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor from left to right. The image moves up and down in the Preview window. Release the mouse button when the image arrives at the vertical position where you would like it to appear above the video. For example, if you want the image to appear in the upper right corner of the movie, drag the cursor above these two numbers so the image appears in that location in the Preview window.
  
  
• 4). Click the arrow next to the Scale label. A horizontal scale appears. This scale has a slider. Drag the slider from left to right. As you drag, the image gets larger or smaller depending on the direction you move the slider. Resize the image using this slider. Newscasts often display small images in the upper right corner of video footage, but you can place your image anywhere you like.
  
  
• 5). Click the "Play" button beneath the player in the Preview window. The image sits above the video as it plays. As the video plays, the vertical timeline indicator in the Timeline panel moves to the right. When it moves past the smaller image thumbnail, the image disappears from the Preview window. The image will only appear as long as the timeline indicator is above a portion of the image thumbnail. To extend the duration of the image, click the thumbnail's right edge and drag it to the right. The thumbnail gets wider. Decrease the duration by dragging it to the left.
  
  
• 6). Press the Spacebar after changing the image's duration. You can press the Spacebar instead of clicking "Play" to preview your movie. Press the Spacebar again to pause the movie.
  
  
• 7). Click the center of the image and drag it to the right. Dragging the image to a new horizontal location on the Timeline panel allows you to make it appear wherever you like in the movie. For instance, if you only want the image to appear after the movie has played for 15 seconds, drag the image to the right so that its left edge is beneath the 15-second marker located on the timeline scale at the top of the Timeline panel.
  
  
• 8). Preview your movie when you are satisfied with the image's location, size and duration. Add additional photos if you like using these steps.
