How to Replace a Jaguar Fuel Pump
- 1). Crawl under the car near the rear bumper and locate the gas tank (large metal tub-looking protrusion). Find the gas line running from the end of the gas tank toward the front of the vehicle.
- 2). Follow the gas line until you locate a clear plastic apparatus, which is the fuel filter. Pry the filter from the fuel filter mount with a screwdriver, then use the pliers to pull the tubes off the ends of the fuel filter.
- 3). Pry the filter from the fuel filter mount with the screwdriver, then use the pliers to pull the tubes off the ends of the fuel filter.
- 4). Slide the gas lines onto the proper sides of the new fuel filter and then slide the filter back into the mount.
- 5). Start the car, turning the key to "Accessories On" for 3-5 seconds, and then turn the car the rest of the way on. This allows the fuel pump to prime the gas line prior to the engine's firing.
