Following the popularity of the Kevin Sorbo rendition of Hercules (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) followed by Xena: Warrior Princess, which shared the same cast of gods and goddesses from Greek mythology, the Disney studios came up with their own Hercules Disney style. Hercules Disney is a 1997 animated feature film directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. There was also a syndicated Disney Hercules: The Animated Series.

Hercules Disney is not closely related to the ancient myths because of its G rating.
