• The Arizona Department of Housing receives funds from the federal government's HOME Investment Partnerships Program to distribute to rural and urban areas along with state funds through grants. Money for this purpose varies from year to year, but in 2002 Arizona received nearly $7 million. According to the program's website, these funds "can be used for homeowner and rental housing development, as well as owner-occupied housing rehabilitation."
