Gold Coast Suns vs Western Bulldogs
Round 10
Start Time: Sunday, 25 May, 15:20
Stadium: Metricon Stadium, Gold Coast
The Suns are likely to recall young defender Kade Kolodjashnij after he missed last week with a knee injury. Seb Tape is pushing for a recall and Sean Lemmens needs to overcome a corked calf in order to take his place. For the Bulldogs, Tory Dickson will need to be replaced and Liam Jones is suspended whilst Tom Williams will need to overcome a calf complaint. Marcus Bontempelli, Clay Smith and Ayce Cordy are all in the mix to return.
It's hard not be excited by the young Suns. They're fifth on the ladder having won four games in a row, including the last three by over six goals. Gary Ablett is on track for his third Brownlow Medal as his midfield teammates are also delivering on their potential. The Bulldogs beat Melbourne by 16-points before the bye thanks to four goals from Stewart Crameri and are sitting in 12th position.
The Suns notched their first ever win over the Bulldogs in round 8 last season with a 32-point victory. Suns captain Gary Ablett had 31 disposals in the win to earn himself three Brownlow votes whilst Campbell Brown kicked three goals. For the Bulldogs youngster Jake Stringer kicked three goals whilst Adam Cooney had 31 touches.
