Oatmeal Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
Made with ripe, mashed bananas, these cookies are actually good for you.

Next, cream together shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar. (I used my mixer.)
Then add:
1 egg, vanilla, 1 cup mashed banana (I used 4 small ones, for a very generous cup full).
Combine wet mixture with dry mixture, and add 2 cups chocolate chips (1 12-ounce package).
Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet (I used parchment paper instead), and bake 12 to 15 minutes, at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup mashed banana
- 2 cups chocolate chips
