How to Install a Headlight on a 1994 Cadillac
- 1). Open the hood. Unscrew the tabs on top of the radiator to access the headlight mounting bolts.
- 2). Disconnect the negative terminal of the car's battery using an open-end wrench, and place the wire to the side. Do the same to the positive terminal.
- 3). Unbolt the battery tie-down from the tray using the 3/8-inch ratchet and extension; then remove the battery from the tray.
- 4). Lift off the cover that protects the bulb on the back of the headlight using your hands. This is made of rubber and should just peel off.
- 5). Remove the corner lens from the body, using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Twist out the bulb socket and set it to the side.
- 6). Unclip the headlight bulb from the headlight, using your hands.
- 7). Unbolt the two bolts that secure the headlight to the core support from the rear. These are in the corners by the corner lenses.
- 8). Unscrew the front of the headlight assembly from the housing at the front of the lens using the Phillips-head screwdriver. These screws are inboard toward the grille.
- 9). Reinstall the new headlamp assembly in the reverse order of disassembly.
