Tripoley Rules

104 17

    Chips and Deal

    • Every player puts a chip onto each of the nine sections of the Tripoley board. The dealer shuffles the deck (no jokers) and deals all the cards to every player plus one "extra hand."

    Hearts Round

    • Players who have the 10, Jack, Queen, King or Ace of Hearts collect the chips on the corresponding sections of the board. Only a player who has the King and Queen of Hearts gets the chips from the "King Queen" section. If the eight, nine and 10 of Hearts are split between three players, they split the chips from the "8-9-10" section.

    Poker Round

    • Players take five cards from their hand to form a poker hand, and a single round of betting begins with the dealer. Once everyone calls, raises or folds, the player with the best hand wins all the bets and the chips from the "Pot" section.

    Michigan Round

    • The dealer plays the lowest card in his hand, and whoever has the next highest card must play it, continuing until no one can play a card from that suit. The last player to play a card starts over with the lowest card in her hand. The first player to play all his cards gets the "Kitty" chips plus one chip from every player for each card they still have.

    Ending the Game

    • The game ends whenever the players decide to, usually when one player has won everyone else's chips. If there are any chips left on the board at the end, the dealer deals a single poker hand and the player with the best hand gets the chips.
