The Agony and the Ecstasy

This poem has been inspired by watching the tea leaves steeping in hot water and gently unfurling and releasing its amber essence to the surrounding water in an almost surreal display of slow motion drama! "The Agony of the Leaf" Unfurling its leaves in heated torment, bleeding its treasure in silent lament, Releasing its nectar into a cup, behold! like the soul departing from its earthly hold, A marvel of nature brought to life through labor, Its pain and joy revealed in flavour, To drink from this brew born of nature's drift, Is to celebrate a moment of life, its love, its gift.
" Tea has an almost divine influence on our moods and perceptions and can be alluded to a heavenly brew that can give us ephemeral moments of ecstasy! This second pat of the poem has been inspired by the many mortal anecdotes of humans finding peace and enlightenment in a cup.
"The Ecstasy of the Nectar" To see life's reflection in a nectar sublime, And transcend beyond its mortal woes, To step out of the frenzied race with time, And drink deep from nature's pores, To sip from an elixir, and drown in its flavor, To feel the warmth of this brew, soothing like the freshness of dew, Amber gold and serene green, its flavor and aroma like an ambrosial dream, Colouring our life through its many lenses, awakening your taste and refreshing your senses, Like an endless fountain of immortal drink, Pouring unto us from heavens brink, So drink deep my friends, for this is tea, Surrender your souls to ecstasy.
