How to Install a TPI Air Foil
- 1). Open the hood of the car. On a TPI engine, the intake is the large silver box on top of the engine with silver pipes running out of its sides. On the front of this box is the black plastic air intake and the aluminum throttle body.
- 2). Unscrew the compression band that holds the air intake onto the throttle body with the flat screwdriver. When the band is loose, wiggle the air intake hose to loosen it from the throttle body and remove it.
- 3). Position the TPI air foil into the air intake tube you just pulled off the air intake. It will fit tightly into the tube. The metal foil itself, the blade of the air foil, should be positioned straight up and down in the intake.
- 4). Push the intake duct back onto the throttle body, and then tighten the compression band back to complete the installation.
