How to Turn on Virus Protection in Windows Security Center
- 1). Check to see that your virus protection is on and running. If you do not have virus-protection software on your computer, there are many free programs to choose from (see Resources). Download and install the virus protection.
- 2). Click on "Start" or the Windows icon on the taskbar.
- 3). Select "Control Panel" from the menu that appears.
- 4). Click on "Security" and then select "Security Center."
- 5). Click on "Malware Protection." Under Virus Protection or "Other Malware Protection," select your anti-virus program to enable it.
