Breast surgery is no different from any other invasive surgery, in that with it comes a host of dangers and side effects. Most doctors recommend avoiding surgery unless it is completely necessary as a last resort measure.

Breast enlargement surgery is never a last resort measure when there are other non-invasive methods available to you.

Here are only some of the complications that can arise with breast surgery:

- Infection: Anytime your body is being operated on you run the risks of foreign bacteria infecting your body. Infections can range anywhere from mild to severe, with mild being treatable by oral antibiotics and severe requiring much more drastic options to cure. Infection is not a risk when you use a more natural method.

- Back Pain: When you unnaturally increase your boob size, you are putting an additional stress load on your body to support these new and larger breasts. For many people this can lead to severe back pain, as their bodies were not meant to be able all of a sudden support this additional weight. If a woman chooses a method other than surgery to increase her boob size slowly and naturally, her body will have the time needed to adjust to this new load at a proper pace and she will most likely not have any back pain.

- Breast or Nipple Numbness: With implants many women report losing sensation in both the nipple and the breast. As most women know, the breasts and nipples are some of the most sensitive parts of a women's body and are very important in sexual activities. The numbness that silicone implants might lead to can negatively affect these and other activities. With many natural methods, there is no loss of sensation.

- Scars: While the technology for breast enlargement surgeries has gotten much better over the years, it is still inevitable that a surgery that slices open a part of your chest will probably leave a scar. Most women are already somewhat apprehensive about the look of their breast, and the last thing that is needed is scar tissue adding another level of concern.

- Cancer: It has also been discovered that breast enlargement surgery can sometime lead to a form of breast cancer, known as anaplastic large cell lymphoma. This form of cancer can, as with all cancers, lead to death.

- Anesthesia risks: Anytime you get put under anesthesia, there are many associated health risks. Many people do not react well to anesthesia, and it is often best to avoid being put under if at all possible.
