How to Report Workers' Compensation Fraud
- 1). Find a link to your state's department of labor on your state's official government website. If you are unable to find your local department of labor this way, try doing a quick search using your preferred search engine.
- 2). Look for information on the website relating to workers' compensation fraud. There should be a section on any given department of labor website related to information on reporting this type of fraud. If you are unable to find a link directly, attempt to locate the section by using a search box on the website.
- 3). Call the number listed on the website or write a letter to the address provided. The department of labor website will have information on how to do this. Many states will offer a 24-hour, toll-free number to call in order to report workers' compensation fraud. You will need to be prepared to answer any questions the department may have about your complaint. If the website has a complaint form, you will need to download the form and print it out. Be sure to fill out the form fully before either faxing or mailing it to your state's department of labor.
