Differences in Microsoft LifeCam Cinema & Webcam Pro 9000
- Both the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema and the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 capture true high definition video at 720p at a rate of 30 frames per second (FPS). They are also each capable of taking eight megapixel still photos. They also shoot in widescreen and they have an auto-focus function.
- The Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 comes with Logitech webcam software that includes filters, avatars, video masks and other features and effects. The Microsoft LifeCam Cinema software lacks many of these functions. Also, the LifeCam Cinema has much steeper system requirements, recommending a dual core 3GHz CPU and 2GB of RAM for optimum performance. The Webcam Pro 9000 only recommends a 2GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM, or a dual core CPU with 1GB RAM for the best video calling experience.
- Both cameras are USB 2.0 compliant and have noise-canceling microphones, which reduce background sound interference. The Logitech camera includes Intelligent Face Tracking, which ensures that your face is always in the center of the video frame, even if you move around. The Microsoft camera is more rugged and durable, since it is made from aluminum. The Logitech camera, on the other hand, is made from plastic.
- Due to their similar feature set, both cameras also have similar pricing. At the time of publication, the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema is available from Amazon.com for a price of $48.99 and the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 is available from Amazon.com for $54.10.
