How to Install Laminate Floor Patterns
- 1). Install the first row, starting on the left side of the room and working toward the right side, ensuring that spacers have been placed to allow for 8-10 centimeters of space. Continue by installing full planks until you have reached the opposite wall.
- 2). Measure and cut the excess from the last plank of the row, again ensuring that 8-10 centimeters is allotted to each side where the flooring is bordered by a wall. The 8-10 centimeters is necessary to allow for potential expansion of the flooring in different types of weather.
- 3). Start the second row using the remaining piece cut from the end of the first row, unless it is shorter than eight inches. If the piece is smaller than eight inches, cut a new plank in half and install, again working from left to right.
- 4). Continue until the end is reached, cut the remaining board and use that piece to start the third row.
- 5). Repeat this laminate flooring pattern, using the remaining board from the row before it, so long as it is longer than eight inches, until the last row is reached. This will complete a laminate floor pattern that appears staggered and is structurally sound.
