What Makes You Stuck?

I remember clearly the worst "stuck" I've ever been in my life. I was working myself into the ground in a job I didn't like when I was struck with an illness.

They told me, unfortunately, it would kill me - slowly - and there was no cure. (Can you get a worse prognosis than that!?) But what I didn't know was that really my problem was, that I was "stuck." And since I didn't know how to get unstuck, I developed a disease. (Yes, our bodies pay the price for what our minds do…)

So this disease was really a HUGE blessing, because it served to get me moving. Of course, along the toughest road imaginable - what with doctors, clinics, trail studies, medicine (ugh) then finally with a herbalist, fitness trainer and some scientific prayer, it was several years before I was moving in the right direction again.

The blessing part was not, as you might think, the return to health (though I have a 100% clean bill of health now). No, the blessing was discovering the formula for getting myself unstuck. Because it works for everything.

I learned that anytime you are stuck it's a blessing. It's like this place that you find yourself - no matter how awful it is - is the perfect launching ground for wherever you are going. Accepting this truth is the first step for the launch. So often you'll find yourself railing against what is happening, or feeling sorry for yourself or blaming or complaining. This has to stop first.

The answers are within. We live in this made-to-order society and often we don't think for ourselves. This is a lost art that you need to resurrect in order to get unstuck. Only you know the answers for you. You may not have access to them right now, but they are there. It is your job to uncover them. And you can do it. (Of course, you'll need support but it begins and ends with you.)

Reconnect to your faith. You are going to need some faith on whatever your path ends up being. And the more faith, the easier the journey. I had God pigeon-holed in my life before. I thought He took care of these things but not those things. When I enlarged my idea of what faith was, my whole journey became easier - and more joyful. And that's what we are looking for here, right?

So remember that when you are stuck, nothing has gone wrong. It's just a stopping place for you to collect some answers and then re-launch your life in the proper direction.
