    Covered Employees

    • A full-time employee becomes eligible for disability benefits after he has been employed for a period of four weeks. A part-time employee becomes eligible after he has been employed for 25 days.

    Benefits

    • Disability benefits are paid weekly. An employee is entitled to receive half of his weekly pay (not exceeding $170). Benefits are payable for 26 weeks during a consecutive 52-week period.

    Exceptions

    • An individual who is not under the care of a licensed medical professional during his period of disability does not qualify for benefits. Qualified licensed medical professionals include physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, dentists and psychologists. An individual is also not covered if his disability was brought about willfully in an attempt to obtain benefits or if the disability occurred due to his voluntary participation in an illegal activity.
