If you are direct and confident in presenting your service, and not afraid to ask for the sale and payment, then you can do well.
The second way many people work from home and start earning immediately is to seek out companies that are looking for off-site workers.
If you post a resume on many online sites and specify that you are seeking at-home work from your "remote office", you will get many offers for jobs dealing with customer service, sales, customer support after a sale, market research, and many other jobs.
Lots of employers in different markets may have trouble attracting people willing to do off-site sales, or appointment setting.
They are looking for someone who can make calls from home during business hours.
The pay can range from minimum wage for customer service - up to several hundred dollars per sale if you are working a high-end sales job.
The benefit is that you are able to do it all from home.
Telecommuting doesn't mean you have to get a traditional job and ask for days when you can work from home.
You can start your work remotely and continue working the hours you want.
