    • 1). Put your peripheral Bluetooth device, such as a headset or computer dongle, in "Discovery" mode. Some Bluetooth devices just require the device to be turned on to be in "Discovery" mode and other devices require you to push a button or select a menu option. Consult your Bluetooth device's user guide for specific instructions.

    • 2). Turn on your iPhone and tap the "Settings" app. Scroll down to the third section and tap "General."

    • 3). Tap "Bluetooth" and then tap the "ON/OFF" toggle button to the right of Bluetooth until "ON" is highligted. A list of Bluetooth devices within range of your iPhone will appear on the bottom half of the iPhone screen.

    • 4). Tap the icon that corresponds with the Bluetooth device you want to connect to.

    • 5). Enter the personal identification number (PIN) or passkey associated with the Bluetooth device you are connecting to. This number is typically located in the user's guide for the Bluetooth device. Your Bluetooth device will be enabled on your iPhone after you successfully enter the PIN or passkey. Alternatively, tap the Bluetooth icon associated with the Bluetooth device on this screen and select "Forget this device" to disconnect from this specific Bluetooth device at a later date if you no longer want to use it.

    • 6). Press the "Home" button on your iPhone to return to the home screen.
