How to Get Rid of an Antispy Spyder
- 1). Download "FixASS.reg" and "RegAllow.exe" to your desktop (see Resources).
- 2). Click the "Start" menu, then click "Control Panel." Click "Uninstall a Program," then double-click "AntispySpider." Click through the uninstaller. Answer "No" when asked if you want to restart the computer.
- 3). Double-click on "regallow.exe" on your desktop. Click "Enable Registry Tools," then click "OK." Double click on "FixASS.reg" on your desktop. Click "Yes," then "OK." Restart the computer from the "Start" menu.
- 4). Open "My Computer" from the "Start" menu. Double click on the "Local Disc C:" icon. Double click on the "Windows" folder. Delete the following files from the "Windows" folder by clicking on them and pressing the "Delete" key: "homepage.html," "index.html," "promo1.html," "promo2.html," "promo3.html," "promo4.html," "promo5.html," "promo6.html," "promogif1.gif," "promogif2.gif" and "promogif3.gif."
- 5). Double-click the "system32" folder. Delete the files "adult.txt," "finance.txt," "lt.res," "other.txt," "pharma.txt," "sft.res," "sn.txt" and "sockins32.dll" in the same way that you deleted the files in the "WINDOWS" folder.
- 6). Click on the "Back" icon in the Windows File Explorer twice to return to the "C:" folder. Double-click on "Program Files (x86)," if present. Otherwise, double-click on "Program Files." Delete the "AntispySpider" folder.
- 7). Delete the "AntispySpider" shortcut on your desktop and the "AntispySpider" folder in the "All Programs" section of your "Start" menu.
- 8). Open the "Recycle Bin" from your desktop. Right-click on each of the files that you just deleted and select "Delete." Click "OK" to confirm the file deletion for each file.
