Why I"m Voting For Barack Obama on Novmeber 4, 2008
I long ago decided to support Barack Obama for President this year.
And as time passes and I learn more and more about Obama and the kind of thinker and leader he is my support becomes stronger.
While his opposition in the right wing media (Fox News/New York Post) and in the McCain campaign have continued to hammer Obama with loose association attacks, Obama has talked about the issues and a positive future for America.
It's been night and day.
A contrast between fear & ignorance and hope & knowledge.
I hope that everyone that has had enough of the failed policies, lies, and distortions of the last eight years rejects the Republican party of George W.
Bush and John McCain and votes for Barack Obama on November 4th (or votes early!) According to polls only 9% of Americans believe we are on "the right track" yet over 40% appear to be supporting John McCain for President.
I truly do not understand that.
A vote for McCain is a vote for more of the same.
A vote for McCain is a vote to stay on this track.
To continue to drive America into the ground.
It doesn't make any sense.
Obama is a big (positive) change on the issues that matter most to real Americans.
Instead of tax cuts for the rich, Obama will give tax cuts to the middle class.
Almost everyone reading this article will receive a greater tax cut with Barack Obama than they would under John McCain.
Unless you earn over a quarter of a million dollars a year, you will receive a tax cut from Obama.
Obama's health care plan will cut down on the millions of Americans without health care.
His plan will also reduce health care costs.
This is in great contrast to John McCain's health care plan which would be a disaster.
Instead of cutting down on the amount of Americans without health care, it would add many millions more.
McCain would also take money from Medicare for his plan.
Obama will bring home the troops from Iraq which will save America billions of dollars along with many soldier's lives.
It will also allow us to use our military more effectively in other regions (such as Afghanistan.
) Obama will invest in alternative energy in a way which will create millions of jobs and help America to become free from reliance on foreign oil.
McCain's "drill baby drill" plan would be a huge mistake.
It would be a waste of another four years while the rest of the world moves ahead of us.
We cannot afford more of this backward looking nonsense.
