Journey of a Micro business Entrepreneur Part 1

I graduated from university with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. My ambition then was really to be a very highly paid professional. Well that ambition actually came true. Weird how a hope can become a nightmare or at the least a dissatisfactory everyday life in the boring: downturn in the economy, 2 weeks of vacation per year, a new employment every couple of years, 40+ hour week, extremely driven self concerned bosses, four homes, eight cars, university loans, car loan, motorcycle loan and residential home mortgages. At some point I was getting $75k/yr, however with more than $200,000 in financial debt. Thinking back though it did take me the loss of my real job and just about going bankrupt to realize it, I was programmed to believe I was entitled to more than I made, no matter how much that was. As a result I started on my path toward learning that reality doesn't have to be a prison.
If you are viewing this essay then perhaps you would like something different also? I'm not making reference to get rich quick systems. None of the information I ever post are going to be about this! I'm discussing working your butt off to setup an inheritance, to finally enjoy life, to be pleased with the income you're making, whilst having more time to spend with people you care about and experience life. I'm referring to liberation! There are many great individuals who are contented, and even fulfilled to arrive at an 9 to five career every day. There certainly are plenty of virtuous careers. I'm writing this to those of us who aren't suited for these good pursuits and cannot stand the eight to five employed by the man only to get 2 weeks of vacation and let go in a couple of years. However, once again there may be great businesses around and thereby great occupations. I have never stumbled upon them, but if you wish to learn more pertaining to selecting the right professions and company then I would advise you to study the next few books: 48 days to the Job you Love, Good to Great, Start with Why and What Color is Your Parachute?
These publications are a great read and are worthwhile regardless of whether you want to stay in your job or not. Regardless, if you have had it with the corporate life and are ready to explore your calling then read on.
I was laid off from my assignment as an application engineer with an elastomer/Teflon seals producer in January 2009. I had an $1800/mo mortgage, $350/mo automobile loan payment and ever increasing credit debt. My mother (God rest her soul) cleared the financial obligation on my auto loan and assisted with my other debts the best she was able to. Unfortunately, $1200/mo in unemployment wages does not halt a "sinking ship". I still owed about $200k on the house. Thank God I didn't have family members of my own to be concerned with when all this occurred. Nevertheless, God Himself did succeed for me! I was able to get hooked up with a quality realtor (Jeremy Wilson at Chucktown Homes) who was capable of talking with my bank and getting my house marketed as a short sale. Thus started my journey towards financial freedom!
As a result of 8 months of unemployment and realizing I was on a sinking ship loan, I made the choice to try a career providing medical care insurance. This would have to be among the insane things I've ever done! Engineering science to a hundred percent commission sales!? Nonetheless I did it and became number 2 rookie of the year! I was able to repay all my outstanding debts. I'm happy to state at this moment I'm debt free and in no hurry to actually go back into financial obligation. On the other hand, I'm in a rush to do another sunny vacation! I've enjoyed three in 2012 and I am seeking 4 in 2013!
