How to Embellish Chandeliers

    • 1). Embellish your chandelier with crystal prisms that refract light to add sparkle and elegance to a room. Hang crystal pendants all the way around each bobeche, or candle cup. Most bobeches have holes that make it easier to decorate the fixture. Drape crystal chains from arm to arm, keeping the drop of the chain consistent between the arms. Secure the ends of the chain with wire or hot glue. Hang prisms from the edges of the reverse dish.

    • 2). Tie satin bows made of wide ribbon around the arms of your chandelier. Arrange them so the fronts of the bows face outward and slightly downward. Use white and ivory bows with crystal chandeliers, and add colored bows to celebrate the seasons and holidays.

    • 3). Remove the crystal prisms from your chandelier as the holiday season approaches and replace them with Christmas ornaments. Use the same style and color ornaments on your chandelier as you have on your tree to create a consistent theme. Wrap the fixture's column with tinsel garland to give the design depth and added shine.

    • 4). Fill hanging bud vases -- one for each arm of the chandelier -- with water. Place fresh carnations, tulips, roses or other flowers in each vase. Hang one vase and a ribbon from the arm of each chandelier.
