How to Change Proxy Settings in XP
- 1). Log on to your computer and open Internet Explorer. Click on the "Tools" menu and choose "Internet Options" from the menu.
- 2). Click on the "Connections" tab. Click the "LAN Settings" button at the bottom of the screen.
- 3). Check the "Proxy server" check box if it is not already checked. Type the name of the proxy server in the box and click "OK." If you do not already have the name of the proxy server ask your network administrator or IT department for help.
- 4). Click "Yes" if prompted to restart your computer. When the computer restarts the proxy settings will take effect.
