US National Figure Skating Silver Medalist Brandon Mroz:

Brandon Mroz has won silver at the US National Figure Skating Championships four times.

• 2008 - Silver Medalist - US Natinoal Junior Men
• 2007 - Silver Medalist - US National Junior Men
• 2006 - Silver Medalist - US Natinoal Novice Men

Mroz also won silver two times (2007 and 2008) at the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, and he won the pewter medal two times (2007 and 2008) at the Junior World Figure Skating Championships.


Date and Place of Birth:

Brandon Mroz was born on December 22, 1990 in St. Louis, Missouri. He calls St. Louis, Missouri home.

Training and Coach:

Mroz trains under Tom Zakrajsek at the Colorado Springs, World Arena. He moved to Colorado to train under Zakrajsek in 2005. Previously, he had trained under Doug Leigh.

Early Skating :

Brandon Mroz started skating at age of three. He began skating in a U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills learn to skate class program. He has also done some ice dancing.

Hobbies and Interests:

Snowboarding is one of Brandon Mroz's favorite activities. Brandon also was a Boy Scout and enjoys church activities. In the past, Mroz played hockey with his dad.

Family :

Mroz has three brothers. One of his brothers suffered permanent injuries after he was in a serious car accident.

National Highlights:

At the 2009 AT&T US Figure Skating Championships, Mroz landed a clean quadruple toe loop jump. He also achieved a Level 4 score for one of his footwork step sequences.

His appearance at the 2009 United States Figure Skating Championships was his first at the senior level.

In addition to landing the quadruple toe loop jump, he successfully completed and landed eight triple jumps.

Brandon Mroz represents the Broadmoor Skating Club.

Goals:

Like many young figure skaters, Brandon Mroz hope to compete and medal in the Olympics. He wants to go to college. After college, he would like to become a dentist.
