When more you talk, then more he shuts down and situation can turn into a fight which is a no win for either of you.
For an example: my female partner the other day felt taken for granted because I haven't pitch in helping with some reason around the house. Instead of jumping on me and screaming her disappointment, she began the conversation and sort out the problem in a very loving way. Firstly she asked me that if I was open and available to talk with you. The importance of this conversation is to make sure that I was going to receive what she had to say. She then began to express her feelings and emotions in such a way that I could tell it was a we problem and not a me problem. Her tone was very loving and very touching to heart (even though I knew she was very upset), but she has focused on getting her point across me without a power struggle or fight. Being so calm and knowing I was open as usually the best way to get through to me and Im very sure your guy too. The truth and blieveness was that she was right and I had taken her for granted, which she deserved an apology on my part.
Whenever she needs to something say to me, she starts conversation in a very loving manner and she usually knows that in advance the outcome she wants will be positive. So for this reason, she is seen, heard and understood everthing by me because her goal is to share her feelings, love and emotions without getting into a fight.
