At eight years of age, Kilala is a stunning combination of a Siamese cat and a calico cat, which makes her a mixed-breed domestic cats, featured in August as our Cat Pictures of the Week. Kilala is also a very lucky cat. Born of a stray calico mother taken in pregnant by "Serenity," Kilala was one of a healthy litter. Unfortunately, her mother, named Patches, did not survive. She had been malnourished, oily and dirty, with many gash wounds.

Serenity decided to keep Kilala, and it is assumed she found good homes for the other kittens.

Kilala was the runt of the litter, and still only weighs six pounds, but her vets describe her as being in excellent health. Her photo and full story appear in the Domestic Cats Show and Tell gallery.
