What is Yournight?
So...
What is Yournight? I found myself asking the same question almost every day for the last month EVERY time I went on Facebook.
We all know that we are constantly bombarded by ads, and pitches, and sales when we are anywhere, and when you are Facebook it's no different.
Well the majority of them I can just ignore.
I think most of us can.
We have a built in screen that just sees beyond all the crap.
Well, I do anyway.
I mean if we all "the screen" the advertisers would never make any money.
ANYWAY - Somehow Yournight kept getting through my "screen".
I never did anything about it, because I just shrugged it off as another dumb thing, until it happened again.
There I was trying to do my daily Facebook routine, and there it was...
another little blurb about Yournight.
And of course, again, it got through my "screen", and again, I shrugged it off.
Well my friend, today I looked more into it.
I had always wondered what it was, but never went further than that thought.
Today I ventured into the unknown.
(I know..
a little too dramatic for this, but who cares!) So I clicked one of the links and I got my invite to Yournight.
At this point, I knew it would cost me money.
I figured it would be like 45-50 dollars, to which I would have laughed and walked away from.
I mean, I honestly didn't know anything about the company.
Now let's examine the original title of this article...
What is Yournight? Yournight is a social media site PLUS more.
I am basically going to say it's Facebook, Twitter, and Linked in wrapped up into one, with a crappy Myspace user interface.
Personally I don't like the UI, I think it's ugly.
This includes the logo and the homepage.
I'm surprised that didn't turn me off right there.
Pretty much everyone knows what a social media site is, and what they are there for, so I won't go into any detail with that.
So what makes Yournight unique? -Privacy between friends, family and professional profiles -Integration between other social media sites and Yournight -The ability to add widgets, and do everything from banking to checking the news It really looks like they are going for a one stop shop.
Come home, get on Yournight, and never have to leave.
You will be able to check your mail, do your shopping, get a date, talk to your friends, all from the comfort of Yournight.
Not a bad idea.
But will it fly? Will people want it? I mean there are already tons of websites that allow you to post to all of your other social medias.
Will this be any different? I guess only time will tell.
Some things I didn't particularly like about Yournight are listed below -Sidebar banner advertisement.
For some reason this feels a lot more intrusive than ads on Facebook.
Maybe it's just me...
-Like I said before, the UI (user interface) isn't very intuitive, and could use an upgrade.
I'm sure they are planning that! -Ability to send an update to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn via Yournight With that being said, I think this could really take off and I can't wait to get started.
