It seems that learning just comes naturally for some students.
These students usually love school and excel in their classes.
Unfortunately, this is not true for all.
However, don't despair if you are a student in the latter category.
Learning how to learn is often an important process for many students.
The following six tips will help you prepare for class which is part of the learning to learn process.
When you are prepared you will feel more confident every time you enter the classroom.
Before long you will be excited about going to class and your grades will drastically improve.
Your attitude is very important and you must start today to change your attitude about class.
Think of it as an adventure you are beginning and look forward to what a change will occur in your life when you look forward to school rather than dreading having to go.
Being prepared for the class each day will certainly help.
 1.
Before class pre-read the material in your textbook.
If you have had some exposure to the material it will be much easier to follow along with what the teacher says.
2.
    Go over past material.
Reviewing and understanding what you did in previous classes will make it much easier to make connections to new material.
3.
If you have questions from the previous day's class or homework assignment, make a list of them.
Try to get all questions answered before moving on to new material.
If you need help for the teacher, ask for it.
4.
Homework assignments are important; do every one!  Even if you can't complete each and every problem at the very least make the effort to.
When you don't understand something, make notes and show them to your teacher.
The teacher will then know that you really tried to do the work.
5.
   Get and stay organized.
Have a binder for each class and keep all of your papers in them.
To prevent loose sheets falling out, punch holes in the papers and secure them in the binder.
6.
Always have the appropriate materials such as your text, loose-leaf paper, and something to write with when you get to class.
Having to borrow from your neighbor may make you and him miss something important the teacher is saying.
Practicing the above tips will not only make school less stressful, it will help you make great academic progress.
Nothing helps us enjoy something more than achieving success in it.
