Stren Blood Red Line Review

As with all anglers we are spoilt for choice when it comes to fishing gear, things have moved on a lot as far as technology and range.
When it comes to fishing line we have diameters, test strength and a whole host of other options such as color to think about.
I recently tested Stren Blood Red, this is not the most expensive line in the world but boy does it perform well for the money.
First impressions is obvious, its red! However I have found this color to work very well at night and I feel that fish do not get spooked that easily by this line.
I spooled up some 25lb line on a Abu Multiplier and also on a Penn Captivia Fixed spool reel.
The line seemed to lay well and bed down nicely on both reel spools, it did not have the tendency to loop as many other lines tend to do over time.
Knot tieing was very easy as I found this line very supple and slick to the touch.
Abrasion resistance was great as I fished the line over rough ground and did not see any kinks or rough edges appear after a few weeks of fishing.
This line however is not the smallest diameter line in the world especially when compared to braids, but for the money this is a highly rated line and can be readily stocked in a variety of breaking strains in your tackle box without breaking the bank.
I also felt that this line out performed other leading brands of Monofilament line that was almost twice the price! The only negative comment is that you are unable to get over 1000 yards in length spools which is a pity if you are a keen fisherman and want to save more penny's by buying in bulk lengths otherwise this is a must have line.
