Look After Your Print, Fax, Copy And Scan Device - You Might Save Money
Look after your print, fax, copy and scan device - you might save money and actually enjoy using your device!! We have made the decision and purchased a printer, fax, copier, multifunction or other such device from Hewlett Packard - HP, Fuji Xerox, Lexmark, Canon, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Brother, or Epson etc.
and now what.
One of the biggest mistakes we make as users of office equipment is not using it with due care as per our user guide or making sure it is looked after so that we can enjoy the benefits we have paid for with our hard-earned cash - or borrowed money to purchase.
When we buy a motor car we look after it - don't we?Printer, fax or copier fuel? Most of us are careful to put the proper fuel in the car, to check the oil and water regularly, check tyre pressures so we can avoid an accident or not wear the tyres out too quickly and almost always have the car serviced at regular intervals as recommended by the manufacturer of the car - for two reasons - to make sure the warranty we purchased with that car is honoured and to be sure that we get many years of trouble-free motoring.
Furthermore, we most likely take out comprehensive insurance on the vehicle to protect ourselves from potential disasters that may happen - don't we? So why do we spend thousands, or at least hundreds, of dollars buying the right printer, fax, copier, multifunction or other such device from Hewlett Packard- HP, Fuji Xerox, Lexmark, Canon, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Brother, or Epson etc.
after doing our research, and then put second rate "fuel" in it (refilled, compatible or counterfeit toner and ink), don't replace the inkjet printhead regularly or ignore maintenance or fuser kit warnings and basically do nothing about looking after it or protecting our investment.
And then we complain because we encounter problems with print quality, we experience paper jams, the paper comes out crooked and a variety of other problems often leading to an expensive out-of-warranty repair - many of which could have been avoided with the right care and a little thought and common sense.
Why genuine consumables or parts? It is a common held misconception that the only reason manufacturers recommend use of their genuine toner, ink and other consumables is to lock you into a constant spend on their genuine products and thus generate a long-term steam of cash after the initial purchase of a device.
Have you ever thought that they may be recommending use of their genuine consumables and parts so that you will experience trouble-free printing, copying etc and consequently purchase their brand again when you need another device or need to upgrade your current device? You might also recommend their brand to other potential users - isn't that better than having users complaining about the poor performance of their device - more often than not caused by neglect or use of second-rate consumables and parts? Hewlett Packard - HP - probably the best known brand in the printer market place - have dedicated page after page of recommendations in their product manuals and on their websites - not because they had nothing better to do or needed to fill up space - but because they want you to have a trouble-free time using product branded Hewlett Packard.
The same can be said for Fuji Xerox, Lexmark, Canon, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Brother, or Epson.
We have included pages detailing recommendations from manufacturers under the headings of "multifunction device" and "laser printer" elsewhere in this website for your information and assistance.
