Tired of Chasing Rainbows?

America's job seekers and business opportunity seekers are being taken for a ride! Blind ambition, mixed with the urgency of desperation, prompts people to grasp at straws and to believe the improbable claims that many "Get Rich" promoters try to sell them.
Hope springs eternal, and even when people are skeptical, they ignore their better judgment and gamble that some unlikely outcome may still be possible.
They waste time and money chasing a short-cut to success when the same amount of time and money could have delivered them into a more conventional and secure career opportunity.
Robert Ringer, author of "Looking out for #1", talks about "The Long Short-Cut".
Often, we waste more time trying to pursue short-cuts than if we had just resigned ourselves from the outset to take the time to take the slow-sure avenue to success.
It is the old story about the tortoise and the hare.
The Tortoise slogs song, slow and steady toward its destination, and always arrives there safe and sound, albeit a little later than desired.
The Hare on the other hand, races off breakneck speed, over-confident and risking accidents, broken limbs, getting lost, and perhaps ultimately arriving later than the tortoise, or even never arriving at the finish line at all.
People who are tempted to follow the Hare are, more often than not, disappointed.
Here is a real life example.
Joe, an aspiring Real Estate Investor who drives a truck for his day job spends $10,000 for a coaching program that promises to make him rich within six months.
At the same time, Mark, a salesman at his local Ford automobile dealership, resists the promises of a "Get Rich on the Internet" course, and instead enrolls in a self-study program to become a "Foreclosure Trustee" at a cost of $2,000.
Six months, later Joe is angry at his coaches because all he has learned are impractical theories that don't work, or common sense information that he could have figured out on his own for free.
He has not made a dime in Real Estate and has wasted his nest egg with no chance of getting it back.
He is the Hare who was chasing the quick, easy way to riches, and he is a failure! Conversely, two months later, Mark has learned how to perform a valuable service for real estate lenders and banks, has become an independent contractor performing trustee services for the real estate industry, and is en route to earning a six-figure real estate broker's or attorney's income.
True, he is not rich yet, but in his mind, he is a success!  He did not waste time or money, and his chances of becoming rich eventually are much better than Joe's.
Mark resolved from the outset to pursue conventional job skill instead of some contrived, money-making scheme, born in the mind of some promoter.
