As of 2009 Algreen Products in Cambridge Ontario is introducing their new and improved line of Maxflo waterfall pumps. By combining changes to the pumps impellor design to increase strength, and pump testing at their state of the art testing facility, these pumps are now stronger and more reliable than ever.

New this year, Algreen constructed a 500 gallon test tank in their warehouse to test pumps and filters for reliability and durability. This testing process ensures only the highest quality products are being sold to the customer. All products have been passing and exceeding quality standards and there is a buzz around the Algreen office in anticipation for the upcoming water gardening season.
The MaxFlo line of pumps is based on a magnet driven motor which cuts down on overall power usage and allows for extended life and maximum durability. Often referred to as a work horse these pumps are best known for their sheer power. With GPH ratings ranging from 1500 - 6500 for the price, these pumps are in a class of their own. The pumps design gives the pond owner the option of placing the pump vertically or horizontally for increased customization when deciding where to place the pump. Further features include a filter grid, vortex impeller, barbed fitting for various sized tubing, and a 2 year warranty.

The pump is the heart of your pond and without it you will run into major problems such as: stagnant water, smelly water, mosquito breeding, and discolored water. One of the biggest considerations when purchasing pond pumps is the GPH rating of the pump (gallons per hour) The GPH of your pump needs to be at least half the total gallons of your pond. For example if your pond is 2000 gallons you will need a pump that has a GPH rating of at least 1000. This ratio is important because a pump needs to circulate the water in the pond once every 2 hours. An even larger GPH rating is needed if you wish to add waterfalls, streams, or fish. Consult a professional resource or the pumps manufacturer if you should have any questions about the pump you purchase.

Algreen Maxflo pumps are available at most major home and garden retailers including: Home Depot, RONA, TSC Stores, Reno Depot, various garden centers, and online retailers such as gardensupermart.com
