How can we overcome these sort of challenges?

First of all, you have to make sure that your family members have a clear idea in mind that you're working on a project they don't totally understand. So how you do that?

As you're putting emphasis and explain the reasons for having your own web-based business, they have to notice your excitement about it, and create that feeling in them "this is really happening," because you are dedicated to make it happen.

If you seal the world around you and do not give enough information to your family about what you are trying to accomplish, that's not going to be at your advantage in any way.

That's because when they see you on the computer all the time, they would assume that you play, rather than working.

When I was working at home, my family could not seem to understand what I was trying to do. When I couldn't tolerate more distractions, I sat down with them and said, "... look, this is the project I am working on. I cannot put off fires, simply because I've got something more important here, where the potential is enormous."

By getting them fully understand that what you are trying to accomplish is not just for yourself, but it's going to have certain positive change to everyone. They'll allow you to work without distractions, or have at least certain a level of caution before trying to sell you demands or assignments that are not related to your project, and simply gets you off track.

Here's the important part!

You cannot eliminate 100% of the distractions that come at home, because there will always be issues and crisis situations that might demand your attention, but at least you may bring them down to a minimum as you be more clear with them on what you are trying to accomplish.

However, if you try to be "in your own universe," best friends and family are always going to demand your attention, or maybe challenges and conflicts are quite possible. This can potentially disturb you even more from your efforts to build your project and make your business profitable.

Every time, you demonstrate that your work is an essential part for you, being passionate about it. They'll let you do it without drama and conflicts - guaranteed.

Just like the way you advertise your services to your potential customers, you must position the passion for your work to your loved ones.

You're not just shutting down the world, but you are working to make a better living for yourself, and your loved ones.

If you do not have the time to concentrate at your work, and if all distractions get you off on tangents, and by placing unimportant things as a main concern, there is going to be very little energy left for your business.

You have to facilitate the communication with all your family members in a way that's consistent with your current goals, objectives and business aims.

At this time, you do not want to share with everyone what you are doing. Since developing an online business is quite a new way of making money, and a lot of people would not understand it.

If you begin telling everybody, there will always be a person who'll try to discourage you, because they do not have any frame of reference of what you do.

You may even keep your social group tight for quite some time, before you get things going. That's because dreams and aims tend to be very personal.

The entire purpose of dreams and aims is to engage you in a way to set the course for more productive business campaigns. They are the reason why you get up every morning and doing the work that needs to be done.

When you discuss about your personal and business goals to people you barely know, they wouldn't give a damn just as you do.

Do you need an office space separated from your home?

I have been typically asked whether you should find some an office room, separated from your residence, or staying at home, as a result of encountering so many interruptions daily...

The answer is fairly simple...

In case you have a separate place in your home, then you don't need an office place, because if your family is around, they would not be allowed to come in,move or touch things.

That's because you have an area that's designed just for work.

It is recommended to get a separate space where you are focusing on your projects. If you do not have this available to you, then you should think about getting something like this by all means.

Getting rid of the radio, TV and similar distractions away from your working space is necessary, because they do not serve you well when it comes to focusing and getting things completed.

Establishing an online business needs a large amount of self-discipline and few people around you are going to like it.

Once you begin to feel and look better, healthier or wiser, others probably are not going to like it, because it reminds them of their insecurities and lack of growth. I've learned this from Neil Strauss.

However...

I do not mean to be too judgmental or disrespect anyone here, but once you keep persisting over a long period of time, the likelihood of succeeding is quite high - in spire of all current issues you may be facing today.

There's no underlying cause to beat yourself up, because everything that is taking place at this point it is not even close to your desired outcome.

All the material goods you want to accomplish are outside your comfort and ease, no matter what that means to you. In order to accomplish this, you may want to set your business apart from your family, which might be quite difficult.

That is why frequent conversations about what you are working on should be considered.

Family doesn't need to guess that you're working to develop an online business, but they need to understand it.

There is a difference between guessing and understanding. We might guess something as a process. However, this doesn't signify that we understand it, unless of course, we put it into action.

The trick here is to get your family UNDERSTAND that you are developing an online business, without being a burden for your productivity.
