Coming Soon! The Dubai World Cup

The world's richest horse race is set to take place at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai on 31st March 2012, and the event been running annually since 1996.

The event is organised by Dubai Racing Club, which is chaired by Sheikh Mansour – better known in the UK as Chairman and owner of Manchester City Football Club.

Contested by some of the world's leading thoroughbred horses, the event is now considered something of a showpiece in Dubai, and guests can actually book in to stay at the Meydan Hotel which is uniquely built around the racetrack.

The whole complex is one of impressive proportions, featuring a large bi level Grandstand with two restaurants and no less than 72 luxury hospitality suites, many of which will be occupied by members of the royal family as well as a host of Sheikhs and foreign dignitaries.

A whole manner of conference and banqueting facilities are also available on site ensuring that parties both large and small scale will be able to enjoy the event with their own dedicated facilities and service provision.

It's also an event where dressing to impress is recommended, and to this end the Jaguar Style Stakes will seek out categories of entrants including best dressed man and lady and most creative hat – with the chance for the overall winner to win the use of a Jaguar XK convertible for a whole year.

Of course, there is no gambling permitted in the United Arab Emirates so you can't attend the event and place a bet on the races. However, you can place bets here in the UK with a registered bookie ahead of the event.

Dubai Racing Club introduced a AED 25 General Admission charge for the public areas of the racecourse on Dubai World Cup day and children under 12-years of age will be admitted free.

All General Admission tickets will be pre-sold for all race nights held at Dubai Racing Club, at the Ticket Booth opposite Gate B and from the Ticket Sales Office located at Ramp B – Meydan Grandstand during the week.

No General Admission tickets will be available on Dubai World Cup Day.
