How to Redirect My Documents to a Network Share
- 1). Log in to your Windows XP computer with the user's account. The "My Documents" directory is created for the user's profile, so editing the settings as one user account does not affect other user accounts.
- 2). Right-click the "My Documents" shortcut on the desktop. Select "Properties." This opens a configuration window for the folder.
- 3). Click "Move." A new window opens. Enter the network share you want to use for the folder's file storage. Click "OK." Click "OK" again on the main configuration window to finalize the settings.
