A Club You Must Have in 2014 - X2 Hot Driver
In 2014, we have seen a lot of new club released. In January, callaway released the x2 hot driver. I think it is better and more popular than the new big bertha driver. Although the big bertha is also a good driver. After hitting a few balls with it, i started to fall in love with this new driver. The club face got traditional mattle finish and black face.
The club head size is large but doesn't feel like you are swinging a stick with a basketball attached. In addition, the new head construction has increased playability, and MOI to create an even friendlier driver. By making the face thinner Callaway were able to make the face 4% larger without adding any weight to the club. The loft range varies from 2 degrees up to 1 degree down. There are obviously the custom options to pick from too which I am still waiting on but I'm sure it will be the usual suspects on offer. While it's not exactly a shock to see a brand explaining us that a new driver offers more forgiveness, easier launch and longer distance than last year, I can safely say the new X2 Hot Driver, tested in the same 10.5-degree driver spec, does exactly that.
I felt the club was much more responsive, had a more distinct sweet spot, and more explosion off of the face at impact. Not the most adjustable, but it offers all you need, with a powerful face. And at a lighter total weight, too. My goal was to simply see if the ball flight and performance matched Callaway's claims. A high on the face strike caused the most issues. taylormade r11s driver increased launch and spin so if you combined it with a heel/toe miss you are in a bit of trouble. With adjustability being so important when looking for the perfect driver, the X2 Hot has introduced an all new eight-way adjustable hosel. Beyond the colours, an improved overall headshape and construction improved the mass, weight and aerodynamics of the X2 Hot driver further improving consistency and forgiveness.
As for feel, you can definitely tell when you mishit this driver and that is a good thing. A club should feel differently depending on where you hit it. Titleist 913 d3 driver feel is exceptional compared with others in its category. The X2 Hot driver is very forgiving and it is more difficult to hit wildly offline. Shots impacted off the heel only drop, on average, 1 mph of ball speed.
The x2 hot driver is hot definitely. It offers an impressive performance. You will really enjoy this driver's good feedback. It is a club you must have in 2014.
