How to Make a Dream Catcher Necklace
- 1). Cut five inches of 6 mm leather cord. Run the ends quickly through the flame of a lighter to avoid fraying. Place a dab of hot glue on one end face of the cord and hold the two ends together until the glue is dry.
- 2). Cut 25 inches of 1 mm leather cord. Take one end and tie it in a double knot around the thick 6 mm leather cord circle that you made in Step 1. Put beads down the 1 mm leather cord. Take the 1 mm cord and go to the opposite side, wrap it around the edge one time and then go to another point on the circle. Continue crossing the string around the circle until there's no string left. Tie a double knot on the circle with the loose end.
- 3). Tie a double knot at the end of the string again when you're finished wrapping it around the circle. Cut any loose or hanging string from your knots. Adjust the string around the circle until you're satisfied.
- 4). Open a jump ring with your pliers. Put it through your dream catcher where it won't interfere with any string.
- 1). Measure out 18 inches of 6 mm leather cord for a female's necklace and 22 inches for a male's. Cut with scissors. Run the ends through a lighter flame. Put the string flat on a surface.
- 2). Poke a pin through the leather cord a centimeter from one end. Open a jump ring and put it through the hole that you just created with the pin. Close the jump ring. Create a hole at the other end, one centimeter in.
- 3). Put a jump ring through the second hole. Put a lobster claw clasp through the jump ring. Close the jump ring. Now your necklace attaches.
- 4). Attach the dream catcher to the leather string and close the jump ring. Test the necklace and clasp by securing it around your neck.
