    • 1). Remove the license plate from the bumper and unhook or remove the wires going to the license plate light if there is one.

    • 2). Remove the bolts and retainer nuts connecting the bumper to the frame while your helper holds onto the bumper. Save all the bolts, nuts, washers and spacers for reinstalling the new bumper. The bumper will start to drop once the bolts have been removed from one side. Repeat this step for the other side of the bumper.

    • 3). Install the brackets, step plate and license plate lights from the old bumper onto the new one if they are needed and usable. If they are not usable, replace them with new ones.

    • 4). Install the new bumper using the bolts, nuts, washers and spacers from the old bumper.

    • 5). Install the bumper fasteners loosely and adjust the position of the bumper until there is a ¾-inch gap between the body of the vehicle and the bumper.

    • 6). Tighten the fastener securely once it is in the correct position.

    • 7). Connect the license plate light wiring into the license plate light sockets and install the license plate into the fasteners on the bumper.
