    • 1). Put on the work gloves before starting any work; extended handling of concrete material without the use of gloves can temporarily damage the skin around the hands.

    • 2). Carefully pull the roofing nail from the concrete tile and roof, using the flat pry bar and roofing hammer. Discard the roofing nails in a safe place where it will not be forgotten, or stepped on, as they can be very hard to spot when walking around on the roof or the ground beneath the work area.

    • 3). Pull the concrete tile from the roof and set aside or discard; most commonly, concrete tiles can be re-used when carefully removed intact.

    • 4). Repeat steps 2 and 3, working your way from the top row of roof tiles to the bottom; roof tiles overlap from top to bottom for optimum water shedding.
