Allergens are everywhere and dealing with allergies can be very difficult.
People become affected when there immune system becomes sensitive to a particular allergen.
Typically, your immune system tries to protect you against viruses and allergens as it sees those as threats but it becomes difficult to fight off once an allergen is introduced to the body.
An allergen can start affecting someone as soon as it is inhaled, swallowed or even touched.
Your body and immune system works to try and dissolve the allergen as quickly as possible.
Typically, allergies run in families and a child is a lot more likely to struggle with allergies if their parent does.
If both parents have allergies it is very likely that their child will as well.
So, what are some actions we can take deal with allergies? Checking the weather can always serve to be helpful as you can find out how bad the pollen is and base your plans for the day around that.
Usually, it is pretty easy to determine the times of year when pollen levels and other outdoor allergens will be at their worst.
Staying inside during these times is ideal but sometimes that is just not practical.
If you do have to be outdoors make sure to take a shower and keep your clothes out of the bedroom.
These are just some simple steps you can take to prevent allergens from spreading to the furniture in your home, especially your bed.
Also, keeping your house clean is a must.
Keeping your windows shut during the "allergy season" can be very helpful as well.
Another thing to remember is your pets can carry allergens on them just as humans can.
Regular baths and less time outside during times that pollen is at its worst can help to eliminate the chances of your pets bringing them into the house.
If your pet does go outside be sure to keep them out of your bedroom once they re-enter your home.
Pets can carry allergens in their fur and saliva so be careful when you are around them until you have a chance to bathe them.
There are all kinds of medications available for allergy sufferers but do keep in mind that if you do not find relief through traditional medication you will probably need to consult your doctor so that you can get the help you need.
Although we cannot completely eliminate allergens there are some simple actions we can take to prevent unnecessary suffering.
