It already makes a lot of business sense why you should treat your Filipino employees well. Treat them well and they'll be the best employees that you'll ever have. They're fiercely loyal and very passionate about their jobs. I've heard stories about Filipino employees so dedicated they would go out of their way to save their computers during a disaster and be back on the job just a couple days after.

One thing you may not know is that there are certain business advantages to treating your Filipino employees well. These are advantages that you won't see right away and they may be difficult to quantify. But these advantages can spell the difference between having a growing business and a business that stagnates.

  1. You take advantage of the skills of a network of people, not just one person. Filipinos are very social. They want to help each other out and they actually enjoy networking with other people who work in the same field. So when you hire one Filipino virtual assistant, you're not just getting one person. You're getting a virtual assistant who knows other virtual assistants, programmers and designers.
So when you need another employee, like a web designer, you can just the Filipino employee that you have right now. There's a very big possibility that he or she would know web designer or know somebody who does.
There are a lot of advantages to hiring Filipino employees within the same network. First, these are people who already know each other and can pretty much vouch for each other's work. Filipinos take a lot of pride in their work, so as much as possible they would recommend somebody who does good work.
Secondly, since they already know each other you know they would work well together. This is important especially if you want them to outsource to the Philippines and have them run your business for you.

  2. They're more dedicated to helping you succeed in your business. When treat your Filipino employees well and they really like you, they'll go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that you succeed.
With most employees, they don't care what happens to your business. They just do what they're told within they're specified work hours. Once they're off the clock, they're gone.

But with Filipino employees, they really care because they have this sense of ownership in the work that they do. They feel that your business is also a reflection of their work so they'll do more than what needs to be done to ensure that your business is successful.
I've had Filipino employees take extra time on weekends checking out for bugs on my site or doing content editing. These are things I didn't ask them to do. They did this by themselves on their own time simply because they're just as invested in my business as I am.
  3. Your training becomes an investment, not a chore. If you don't treat your employees well, expect a high turnover rate. And when you have a high turnover rate, training becomes an exhausting chore because it's something that you have to do over and over again.
When you treat your employees well, they're more likely to stay. You only have to train them once on the tasks that they need to do. And when you give them more training, they become better employees because they acquire more skills and knowledge.

Probably the best benefit you'll get from treating your Filipino employees well is these people become your friends. Because they're your friends, you don't have to worry about letting them run your business for you. You can live the 4 hour work week and have a thriving business because you know you have reliable, trustworthy people at the reins.
