Definition:

Ceramics are usually connected to items like bowls or home decorations, but ceramic jewelry components such as pendants and beads also can be used in creating jewelry pieces. These components, however, are made by using the same type of techniques you would use when making a ceramic bowl. Clay is conditions and formed into shapes, then fired in a kiln, and sometimes painted with a glaze as well.
