How to Set Up an Online Bank Account
- 1). Start an application with an online bank such as Ally.com or Aurorabank.com, and choose the type of account you wish to open.
- 2). Complete an electronic application including your name, physical address, previous address (if you have lived in your current address less than two years), Social Security number and employment information. Once you have completed all of the requested personal information, print out the bank application.
- 3). Execute the application with your signature and initials where requested. There is usually a request for you to sign and date the application on the final page.
- 4). Mail your application in to the bank's physical address. In some cases, you may be able to complete the entire application online. In these instances, signature and identity verification may be required in the form of a personal check, and a completed signature card so that your physical signature is on file with the bank.
