Healthy in Your Sixties

Who says only the younger generation has the right to enjoy life? Even those who are in their sixties and above can still have fun, too.
Some people just want to stay at home when they turn sixty and that is fine but being sad in their home is another thing.
Do you not know that even if you are sixty and even if you are at home, you can also have fun? There are many ways to have fun even at home.
But first let me give you a few tips on how you can exercise without the hassle of going to the gym.
1.
Walking- You can go outside your house and take a stroll around the neighborhood.
It does not have to be a brisk walk.
Take small steps at a time and when you feel like you can walk faster, go ahead and do it.
For those who are using canes, you have to ask somebody to walk with you to be safe.
2.
Weights- Remember the days when you were in your twenties? Remember those weight-lifting sessions at the gym? You can actually still do it at home.
But this time, use something lighter such as plates.
After meals, you can clean up the table yourself.
You are not only doing weight-lifting but you are also exercising your legs by walking from the table to the sink.
3.
Lung exercise- Do you find weekends boring? Why not sing with your grandchildren? You can share with them your favorite songs and you can teach them the lyrics.
This is not only good for your lungs.
It's also good for your personal relationships with your grand kids.
4.
Mind stretching- Choose something you love doing and make it a hobby.
If you are fond of plants and flowers, you can have somebody buy seeds for your and other materials needed for pot planting.
And if your health and area permit, you can start gardening.
Our health should be our number one priority.
We need to take good care of it.
One of the things which is very important to do is to get supplemental insurance to ensure that if anything happens to us, our family members will never have to worry about the bills and the medicine because our Medigap supplement plan will cover whatever our regular Medicare insurance will not.
We can never tell what happens to us in the future.
Health is not something we can take chances with, so it's important to make sure we have something we can depend on in case our health fails us.
