How to Create Coupons for Facebook Fans
- 1). Log in to Facebook. Log in with the username and password that is designated as an administrator of your page. Navigate to your company page.
- 2). Edit your page settings. Click on the "Edit Page" link under your logo or company profile photo on the left-hand column.
- 3). Select the Facebook fans that you'd like to notify about your new coupon. Click on "Send an Update" under the "Promote Your Page" widget on the right-hand column. The default will send your message to all individual users who have "liked" or have become a fan of your page. You can also target who gets the coupon message by checking the box next to "Target this update." You will be able to filter the recipients of your coupon by age, location and gender.
- 4). Create the coupon message. Type a short subject line announcing the new coupon, and write the details about your new coupon in the "Message" field. Include the code in your message if your coupon is in the form of a discount code for online transactions. If it's a downloadable or printable coupon uploaded to your business website, paste a direct URL in the message so that users can easily find it on your site. Your goal should be to make it as easy as possible for your fans to find and use your coupon. Click on the blue "Send" button to send the message to your fans.
- 5). Post the coupon to your page's wall. Alternatively, if you do not want to send all your users a message, or if you want to make sure that future fans also get the coupon, upload the printable or downloadable coupon to your page's wall. Click on the "Wall" tab of your page, and in the status field, click the "Photos" icon in the "Attach" field. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload the coupon graphic to your wall, or simply type a message including the coupon code as a status update.
