How I Saved Over 3000 This Year Simply And Easily
Since I have got my life back on track from debt I have been reaping the benefits of my experience.
Not to say that going into debt was a good thing but since I have been 'clean' from debt, the steps I took to reduce my outgoings then have helped me get savings in the bank, a much better credit score and given me much more confidence about money and my future.
You see, when I was in debt I was far too frivolous with my money.
I didn't see the bigger picture and realise how some of my outgoings were really hurting me financially.
I was much more interested in spending money on silly toys than willing to admit I had a huge debt problem and needed help.
When I finally did have to face my demons and face the consequences of my actions I realised that with a few simple tweaks here and there I could make my monthly money go so much farther and pay off my debts so much quicker.
Since I have been debt free I have used this very same approach to improve my life financially and generally.
Here is what I do to save over £3000 each and every year: Firstly, I stopped taking the tube and bus every day and started walking the 2 miles to the office, sure this takes about 35 minutes but it's a very nice walk, through some parks and past some lakes, I am getting myself fitter for free and best of all I save myself £960 each year in public transport ticket fees.
I also swapped my mobile phone which was on a contract to a pay as you go and not I pay £10 per month rather than about £50.
I get £10 of calls on the sim and 300 text messages which is more than plenty thus saving me £480 per year.
I stopped going to the gym and work out at home and run on the streets.
This saves me £600 in gym fees.
The funny thing is when I had the gym membership I rarely went but now im working out at home I do this much more regularly.
I constantly swap my credit cards over to zero percent cards and save about £300 in interest.
At the end of the special offer I just transfer the balance onto a new zero percent credit card and start again.
The most impressive saving was that instead of my daily coffee at the local coffee house and the take out lunches every day I now make coffee at work and take sandwiches to work and save myself over £5 per day.
This adds up to over £1200 per year.
Simple savings which have not changed since I was in debt but ways which got me out of debt a hell of a lot quicker and are now boosting my savings in double quick time.
I hope this helps you.
