Preparations

• 1). Gather pictures that represents the friendship theme that you want for the calendar. Pick out 12 pictures; one for each month of the year.
  
  
• 2). Put your pictures in digital format, if they aren't already. Scan them with a photo scanner and put them on a flash drive, CD or your computer's hard drive.
  
  
• 3). Prepare the photos. Use photo-editing software to rotate, resize and crop the photos to fit your desires for the calendar. You can also add captions if this is what you want.
  
  

Creating the Calendar in Word

• 1). Open Microsoft Word and start a new document based on a template. For Word 2003 or earlier, click on "Start" and then "New." For Word 2007, click on the "Office" button and then "New." A list of Microsoft Word templates open in the window.C
  
  
• 2). Click on the "Calendars" category and choose a template for a monthly calendar. Click on the template and then click "Download." The template opens in the main document window.
  
  
• 3). Customize the calendar by adding your photos to them. Add the photos by clicking on on "Insert > Image > From File." Arrange the photos the way you want them. Also, if it is an template for a past year, you will need to change the dates on the calendar to match the year you are creating it for.
  
  
• 4). Add in special dates that are significant to the friendship; such as birthdays and anniversaries for important dates in the friendship. Also add in upcoming trips and special events.
